The “Mars” citrine brooch is a one-of-a-kind piece made from a layered stack of silver plates. Its design blends chance and control… I gather the offcuts from my cutouts, I choose a rhythm, and I add drawn profiles if needed. After soldering, I rework the overall volume while keeping the random look. I love making this material, which really brings out the light in gemstones and precious stones. The stone’s claw setting is mainly there to integrate the stone into the piece. This brooch is meant to be worn high on the body, slightly on a slant… It fastens securely with a double pin that keeps it stable.
